Awful customer service
On the 23/12/22 my mum received her hamper I ordered from yourselves for the first time,
I paid extra for a personalised sleeve and took a lot of time to choose a thoughtful photo as I couldn’t be in the country with her this Christmas.
I was charged for this however the box came without one, I was very disappointed as I was excited for her to receive the personal photo and note,
She did however love the box and said she will now start using you for her future company orders.
I emailed and explained what had happened. I then had a response saying I will be refunded for the sleeve. I accepted this however still felt disappointed as I would have much preferred her to receive the sleeve I spent a lot of time on. I was told this could take a couple of days.
I then replied to customer care/Charina again on the 04/01/23 to say still no refund (nearly 2 weeks later) to which I received no response,
I then completed the survey sent out - again nothing. Clearly not interested in the feedback given.
I then emailed again on the 10/01/23 asking for a response, and even also emailed the customer service email again and Charina directly, once again no reply. This has now been over 3 weeks with no response and no refund.
What a shame a fantastic product can be spoilt by such terrible or should I say non existence customer service. My mum will now also not by using you for her company.
Strawberry and clotted cream biscuits- SO DULL Soft Italian Nougat- horrid too.
Brought two products from Cartwright and Butler. One was strawberry and clotted cream shortbread which were dull, so small and very few in a cylindrical tin. How they can claim as a title 'clotted cream' when the biscuits only contain 4 percent cream?? Also their Soft Italian nougat selection. This was awful!! not proper nougat at all just sweet set sugary glucose yuck! No one in our household wanted a second piece.

Ordered a hamper on 15 December…
Ordered a hamper on 15 December despatched to DPD Edinburgh next day. Continually showing delay in delivery everyday since until yesterday following a complaint with the company. Yip got the message out for delivery. Recipient at home no one rang the doorbell only to get a message sorry we missed you and a blurred picture which looks like a shot taken as he was driving by. Was ordered for Christmas and recipient now away for Christmas. Very disappointed and still unable to find out why it was delayed. I demanded my money back so much for next day delivery. I demanded yesterday if not delivered I want my money back after several e mails it’s to be returned within 7 to 10 working days. Let’s wait and see

The Hamper I ordered as a gift turned up damaged. Sent a complaint and now more than a week have still not received a replacement. Having chased on several occasions I am being told I have been sent a replacement box, this has not turned dup either. Waste more time chasing them. Would not recommend this Hamper business.

Delivered on wrong date
Haven’t been able to access my account for over a month . Told customer care would check and contact . They haven’t . Products then were unavailable as out of stock because of the delay . In the end forced to check out as guest and now to add to the disaster they have Delivered birthday hamper on wrong date totally ruined the present . ??? very angry and very upset . Have now ordered 3 more hampers from Fortnum and Mason instead . Really disappointed wish I had read the other reviews before I ordered

I ordered this on Friday and specifically asked for it to be delivered on 4th October.
I emailed and called but nothing was done and the hamper was delivered on the next working day

We ordered the Ultimate Cheeseboard hamper and it looks superb. Products were great quality and tasted so good! I had a query there and they are super responsive, I dealt with Charina who was very very helpful. Make a lovely gift!

Puddinglike cake
Bought their Simnel cake and found it unbelievably sweet and above all very puddinglike - consistency of an unbaked cake and too heavy by far for a Simnel. Had to throw it away. I also bought their date and walnut but dread to cut into it. This is my first and last order from Cartwright and Butler and will revert to my usual online suppliers.

Ordered 9 jars but sadly one arrived with a small crack in the ceramic lid, usually I wouldn’t mind but I have a spice rack hand made for all my jars from this company. I was told it was a crack but didn’t ruin the contents which was true but it still arrived damaged and aren’t the jars why people order from you? I was sent a £10 voucher but if I order again to replace the jar I have to pay £5.95 postage. Why should I be out of pocket when the product arrived damaged!! Sorry but it’s disgusting that I have to pay. Surly it would of cost you less to send out a new jar than the £10 voucher and I wouldn’t be out of pocket. Sadly you have lost a customer.

My elderly mother was delighted to…
My elderly mother was delighted to receive a hamper from C & B for her birthday earlier this month. Unfortunately, when she opened the box, the bottle of preserve was broken. My sister e mailed the company and sent pictures of the broken jar etc, only to be told that it was not their problem….. I have never come across such dreadful customer service. These hampers are not cheap but your reply has diminished all the joy of this gift.

Great customer service and beautiful hamper.... needed my hamper to arrive the next day and it did! This was great considering I only ordered it at 11am yesterday and it was a 'build my own' hamper.
Also super happy with the look of it - it's a beautiful looking gift and I think my colleague will be chuffed to bits to receive this.

Very disappointed with this company.
Customer care is shocking.
I ordered tea from them at the end of March. It didn’t arrive as promised (yodel) so I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. I am still awaiting refund 3 weeks later despite several
calls and messages to the company . I was told they would get back to me but they never did.
I shall be raising this with my credit card provider and requesting they take back the payment which ( funnily enough) Cartwright and Butler deducted immediately from my account on the day the order was placed.
Mixed up our order
Ordered 7 gift baskets in December 2021. They mixed the notes for 2 of them (someone leaving and someone joining my company), which was incredible awkward and difficult for us. I wrote in to advise them of this when it happened, and they have yet to acknowledge my email, even though I had a reference and return email saying someone would be in touch. Will 100% not ever use again.

My daughter received a stylish wickerChristmas hamper from a client as a thank you. We have happily munched our way through the contents finding everything to be of the highest quality with wonderful Christmas flavours. I loved the Christmas loaf cake which was deliciously moist and packed with seasonal fruit, the shortbread biscuits-an absolute delight it truly was an amazing hamper and I felt compelled to write this review.
